The first and most important secret to successful baking is always preparing what you are thinking of making. This can both be mentally and physically, understanding what your ingredients are there for helps get the consistency you want. For example, butter makes your pastry heavier, raising flour makes it fluffier and airier, flour makes your batter thicker hence making the pastry denser. So, depending on what consistency you are trying to achieve you may need to play around to get a good batter.

To achieve the perfect gooey brownie the secret is not adding any raising flour, this will raise your brownie making it fluffy and more cake like.
The perfect brownies consistency must be; chocolaty, gooey and melt in your mouth.
Any brownie has a few essentials , butter is to get the brownie melty and moist, flour to give the brownie its texture, eggs to help hold it together, chocolate powder to give it that rich dense flavor and last but not least sugar (need I say more here ?) optionally you can add chocolate chips to give it that melty gooey chocolaty intense flavor or any other toppings like raspberries, walnuts, marshmallows etc. or mix in flavors to indulge the taste further like peanut butter or tahina.
A tip to get a good brownie is always look at your portion to pan ratio, no one likes a thin crispy brownie, so try and start with a small pan and make them nice and thick. Your cooking time will vary depending on thickness and how gooey you would like to be. But the best way to bake is have fun with it and don’t be scared to try new things! The best things come from daring chefs who play around with flavors and step out of the norm.
